    Blackberry Pearl 3G

The Blackberry Pearl 3G is the newest member of the Blackberry Pearl line of phones.  The Blackberry Pearl 3G has a strong set of business and entertainment related features.

The built in wi-fi allows for quick connection and browsing when there is an available wi-fi signal.  When there is not an available wi-fi signal the 3G data connection provides an adequate way to connect for browsing, messaging, or emails.  Depending on the network and your location, the 3G may runs considerably slower though than the wi-fi if available.

The Blackberry OS continues to provide strong email and messaging support.  With the addition of social networking in recent year, Blackberry has made it easy to integrate social networking, email and messaging.  BBM or Blackberry Messenger is a great way to keep instant messages flowing.

The optical trackpad is a recent enhancement on the Blackberry phones replacing the old trackball.  Providing the same ease of use without the issues associated with an actual moving part, the trackpad is a great addition.  Add the full qwerty keyboard and SureType technology and it is easy to keep in touch and scroll menus.

The Blackberry Pearl 3G cut no corners in the media arena.  The enhanced media player does a great job of playing video clips and music files.  The Pearl 3G has dedicated buttons for pause, play and skip for added convenience.  The memory card slot is compatible with cards up to 32 GB providing ample memory options.

Finally, the Blackberry App store provides a strong selection of available apps for all Blackberry phones.

Overall, the Blackberry Pearl 3G is a good phone.  Adding a BodyGuardz from NLU is a good way of keeping it scratch free.  There are also many other Blackberry Pearl 3G accessories that can provide protection and convenience when using the phone.

    BlackBerry 9800

Research in Motion (RIM) has unveiled its latest invention, the BlackBerry 9800.

First is that the phone will be exclusive to AT&T. This means AT&T will carry two of the most coveted smartphones on the market when we throw the iPhone 4 into the mix. Speaking of the iPhone, the 9800 will almost definitely feature a full touchscreen. Some media outlets are reporting that it will also come with a slide out keyboard. Last—and probably most important—the phone is expected to feature RIM’s newest operating system, the BlackBerry OS 6. This will greatly improve the speed of the phone as well as its internet capabilities. Indeed, the phone should rival all web-centric mobile devices, including the iPhone 4. Stay tuned as we continue to follow developments on the release of the BlackBerry 9800.

Protect your Smartphone with the Free BlackBerry Protect

Do you worry about what would happen if you ever lost your BlackBerry? Hopefully the answer is yes. Fortunately, Research in Motion (RIM) has created a nifty—and most importantly, free—solution to the problem. The new BlackBerry Protect app will provide you with extra alternatives to locating your device as well as securing your data. Indeed, the days of worrying about data loss and identity theft via a lost or stolen BlackBerry will soon be over.

Let’s say your phone is lost at home, buried somewhere in your gloriously disorganized mess. You know your phone is around somewhere, but calling it doesn’t work because the phone is on silent. No worries; you have BlackBerry Protect. Merely access the app’s web portal, initiate Loud Ring, and your phone will ring loudly for up to a minute. Needless to say, this should be plenty of time for you to locate your device.

Loud Ring is great for locating your phone when you know it’s nearby, but what do you do if your phone is lost in public or, worse yet, stolen? Well, one of the things you can do beforehand is setup free online storage of your recent activities. BlackBerry Protect safely secures your data and, better yet, it only backs up your most recent data following the first full-system backup. These smaller backups minimizes the amount of data being transferred, thus saving you time (and money, depending on how close you are to reaching date transfer limits). Also, if you lose your phone you can then transfer all the stored data back onto your new BlackBerry.

At this point you might be thinking, “This is all great, but what about my sensitive personal and business information? I hate the thought of someone having access to that through my lost phone.” Fortunately, that’s the best thing about BlackBerry Protect. If your phone is lost you can first try locating it with its own internal GPS. Next, you can send it a message that will be displayed across the front of the screen. This message can explain that the phone is lost and to please call you at another number to return it. If this doesn’t work—or if you simply have no faith in your fellow man—BlackBerry Protect allows you to wipe all the data stored on both the phone and its microSD card.

Protect your phone today with BlackBerry Protect. It’s free, convenient, and provides the security you need to protect your personal and business data.
